White Truffle

White or Black Fresh Truffles in Fort Lauderdale?
Is there a specialty shop / gourmet food store in Fort Lauderdale or Hollywood that would have fresh white or black truffles (the mushroom, not the chocolate)?

I am a former Chef from Canada and my recommedation is look in the phone book under gourmet foods or under gourmet shops, fresh ones are a bit tricky, you may find a store with frozen ones or in tins or bottles, even here in Toronto Canada and fresh ones is hard to find, I buy frozen Italian black and dried white ones, tinned french black and peelings/trimmings and juice from them here, even Italian white truffle oil.
For a fresh ones your either going to have find a wholesaler in Florida, most likely Miami, my friend who works for a hotel on the outskirts of the Disney properties said they only have tinned one on hand at anytime, so you may have to do alot of leg work or running around for a fresh one, but if it was me I would figure Miami is your best bet, do a Yahoo or Google search for them in Florida, and I hope you are in luck.
