is too much protein making my hair coarse?
some of my hair strands are starting to become coarse. im wondering if its because of the leave in conditioner im using. its got wheat germ protein and some other stuff in it. could this be causing the coarseness? should i switch to a spray detangler/leave in?
That can totally happen. If it's got a panthenol up high on the ingredient list, then that could be it. A good deep conditoning under a heat cap or bonnet dryer can fix you up. PLUS is you use silicones like Frizz Ease, that can actually coat your hair and block moisture. You might need to use a moisturizing clarifying shampoo to get build up off, then a deep conditioner.
