Will oil treatment really help hair grow longer?
I read in seventeen that
"a weekly oil treatment stimulates blood flow to the scalp, which helps hair grow longer. Massage it in and let it sit for 10 minutes- then rinse."
will it really help?
and if yes is there any good oils that you would recommend?
Thanks! ![]()
It was in the July 2008 Seventeen magazine pg.110
The ritual of Brushing you hair and massaging your scalp works the same, without all the hassle of depositing oil in your hair (putting oil in your hair can actually dry it out as you need to shampoo the hair more than once in order to remove all of the oil out) ...in addition, if you leave oil in your hair for too long it will keep your hair from receiving the oxygen it needs to breathe and stay healthy)...
But if you must put on an oil based product in your hair, I had a home economics class when I was in middle school that taught us to do a Mayonnaise treatment to your hair (simply put mayo in your hair, cover it with foil and leave on for 15 minutes), rinse it out and apply a good shampoo and conditioner and voila, your hair will be shiny and silky soft!...
hope this helped!
