What should I bring to Europe?
I recently got invited to visit my aunt in France this winter. I have never traveled out of the country and I was wondering what should I bring with me? This is a 2 week trip so how much spending money, should I bring like a blow dryer, cell phone......etc.
Only bring your cell phone if it is a triband, as otherwise you won't be able to make or receive calls. If you're visiting your aunt, she will probably have a blowdryer, so don't bring yours. Any electrical equipment you bring will need and adaptor/convertor, if you forget to bring one you can always buy one at the airport or in France.
The most important things to bring are your toiletries and personal items, any medication you are on, passport, money and credit card. Anything else you can buy. Bring a warm coat and some comfortable walking shoes. You don't have to bring fresh clothes for every day of your trip, you will be able to do some laundry while you're there.
As for spending money, it depends on whether you will be eating out a lot or eating at your aunts home. Food is one of the greatest expenses on holiday, you can save a lot by bringing a packed lunch on your day trips. I'd reckon on 50 euro per day for food and entry tickets. If you plan on shopping bring more. If your aunt is going to spoil you, you'll need less.
Enjoy!
