should i get a solia or chi straightener

i'm going to get a hair straightener for my birthday which should i get?
i have shoulder length wavy/ small curls/ medium thick hair. the straightener will only be used once a week or less

my friend has a solia, and i had a chi.
they worked about the same, but solia is cheaper, and it lasts longer.
(my chi broke after a couple of months, my friend has had her solia for over a year)
