Does anyone know of any good thermal protectors or serums for straightening your hair?
I straighten my hair daily and use TreSemme thermal spray. I find sprays a bit annoying because i can't really get the thermal protector all over my hair, which means there are some parts where i may be damaging. I would like to try a serum, cream or like a mouse type stuff that you apply to you hair (which would be alot easier). Does anyone know of or use any good products like this that they would recommend? thanks so much =]
You've gotta be really careful with serums.. just a little too much and you'll end up looking like you dumped a bowl of oil on your head! I straighten everyday, too. I tried everything in the book. I don't like any of the serums at the drug stores, they don't seem to work at all. My hair still ends up looking fried at the ends. If you know anyone who sells avon, they have an awesome line for straightening, there's a mirror shine spray, and a dry ends serum. They're both in green bottles, and if you don't know anyone who sells it just jump on the website and order. They both smell awesome, and it's CHEAP! You can get both of those for what you'd pay for one thing at the drug store. If you don't want to do all that, I'd recommend going to a salon and picking something up. The employees will be able to tell you exactly what you need. It will be a little pricey, but you want something that works. Not something that you're gonna spend your money on, and might seem like its working, but a month later you still have the same hair you'd have if you hadn't used anything at all! Also, get a good conditioner and use it once a week. I use Pantene Pro-v Mounsurizing Hydrater. THAT you can get at the drugstore! Its about $5 and I love it. Lastly, don't turn your straightener all the way up, depending on your hair type... Usual african american hair is the only texture that needs the full on heat, caucasian hair isbest at about half-way, or lower. That's what will really kill your hair. Good luck!
