Water therapy benefits?
I read about something called water therapy the other day where you drink 1.5 litres every morning before you brush your teeth or eat.
1.5 litres in the morning :O??? I thought it was dangerous to drink lots of water as it can poison your stomach?
Anyway I wanted to try this out for a week to see if it will make my skin look better but I don't want to lose weight!
Should I try it?
You only really need to drink as much water as you need to satisfy your thirst. 1.5 litres every morning sounds a little dramatic, not to mention unnatural.
From Wiki:
"According to alternative medicine advocates, one form of water therapy is the consuming of a gutful of water upon waking in order to "cleanse the bowel". A litre to a litre and half is the common amount ingested. This water therapy, also known as Indian or Chinese Water Therapy, is claimed to have a wide range of health benefits; or at least no adverse effects. While ingesting about a litre and a half of water is usually harmless, this is approaching the level which can lead to water intoxication, an urgent and dangerous medical condition."

There is no evidence to support any benefit of this therapy, though it's probably safe enough.
