How to make my hair Loc faster?

I have been twisting my hair since Feb 06 with hopes of starting locs. Well up to this date I have somthing that looks like locs but still with a twisting appearance. Can someone tell me if there is anything that will or can accelerate the rate at which my hair locs or do I have to just be patient. I started with twisting with a wax , and now I basically twist them once or twice a month and shampoo with a clarifying shampoo. Please help im wondering if its beacause of the curly texture of my hair.

there are several stages of locking..the entire process can take anywheref rom 6 mos to a year. the only thing you can do is be patient. i will list the stages so you can better see where your hair is at and estimate how much time you have left

Prelock stage--hair is soft and coiled into spiral configurations. the coil is smooth and the end is open. the coil has a shiny and glossy texture

Sprouting stage--hair begins to interlace and mesh. the seperate units begin to puff up and expand in size. the units are no longer glossy or smooth

Growing stage--A bulb can be felt at the end of each lock.interlacing continues. hair begins to regain length. locks may still be frizzy but also solid in some areas. locks are closed at the ends, dense and dull

Maturation stage--Lock is totally closed at the end. hair is tightly meshed, giving the hair a ropelike cylinder shape, except where there is new growth at the base.

Atrophy stage--After several years of maturation, the lock may start to weaken or come apart at the ends
