Texture Control

Can you help me control my hair!?
The hair on my head is WEIRD!
It has a thick texture and gets very, very frizzy.
I'm always having a hard time trying to find something to do with it. I get tired of having it in a plain old pony tail all day, and when I straighten it or blow-dry it, it poofs out. Suggestions please!
I have the same problem. Have you ever tried just letting your hair go curly? Your hair has either a curl or a wave, but when you brush or comb it, it separates every curly strand into hundreds of individual curly hairs--and you're left with frizz.
Next time you wash it, put lots of conditioner in it and then clip it up on top of your head while you finish showering. When you're done and ready to rinse, the conditioner will have had a chance to do its job and you should be able to pretty gently detangle. Use a wide-toothed comb to very carefully get rid of any snarls. Then rinse the conditioner out.
Wrap your hair in a towel, but don't rub it. Just let it sit in the towel for a minute. Then take off the towel, shake it out and scrunch in some gel all over your head. (You can try curl-enhancing gel, too.) Let it airdry or use a diffuser and gently scrunch the curls as you dry.
See what that does. If it needs a touch up later on, you can try just spraying it with a little water or a curling spray and scrunching it again.
