Is there a special way to cut synthetic hair?
I'm going to buy a synthetic lace wig..just for right now. And then I'm going to buy one in remy, I just can't afford a $400 wig right now. And I found one that looks really nice buts its a little too long, is there a special way of cutting it since it isn't real hair. And I don't want to layer it, just cut like 4 inches off it.
It all depends on what kind it is. Most are styled to have some shape or curl in just the right place. When you cut it, you are going to be removing the end curl, and there may not be anything left in the rest of the hair. Consider this very carefully.
Whatever you use to cut the hair, it must be very sharp! You want clean cuts, since synthetic will form frizz on the ends if you don't make a clean cut. Remember that you can't put the hair back on once it's been cut. It will not grow. Cut it in very little bits at a time.
