I've been wearing Tree Braids for the last four weeks and I love them. I shampoo once every two weeks. I've seen conflicting information on braids taking your hair out. I would like to wear this style for a long time (like a year or two) of course, getting them re-freshed as required. I heard that micros or african braiding your hair too tight will cause breakage. I go to a full service black owned family shop. They are the best in St. Louis. They use a type of synthetic hair that is very soft like human hair. Most people can't tell that I have braids and the people that know I have braids, are amazed to learn they are synthetic, because the hair is so soft. It doesn't tangle whatsoever.

What are the cons of wearing Tree Braids (corn rows with hair braided in for a long period of time? I've heard that your baby hair will come out with certain types of braids. I love my hair and would like to continue wearing this style.
