Do I really need special shampoo/conditioner for colored hair?
Two of my friends and I are going to dye our hair at home. I'm on a TIGHT budget, and I'm wondering if I really will need to get special color care shampoo and conditioner. I guess I could see why you'd need a special shampoo so that the color isn't stripped, but what's so special about color care conditioners? Do I really need to get one?
Color care shampoo: YES; you need a sulfate-free shampoo that will not strip the color from your hair; Color Care Conditioner: somewhat. You need a moisturizing conditioner that will penetrate the strands. Color can be very drying on the hair and scalp, especially when done improperly. Any deep moisturizing conditioner would work in this case.
