Help with an oily hair patch?
Ok, it's not my whole head of hair that's greasy its just a spot at the crown of my head. I was using Silky Sexy Hair shampoo when it started. Then I also bought Herbal Essences Squeaky Clean shampoo. It didn't help. But I went to get my hair cut and it went away, and stayed away for the next week and a half while I was on vacation. Then it came back two days after I came back home. Could it have something to do with the water in my house?
I have also tried apple cider vinegar and baking soda. It didn't help and seemed to make it worse. I only use conditioner on the ends. And I also scrub the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair in the shower really thouroughly.
Since the problem started with a change in hair product, you might try using the shampoo your stylist used on your hair. Over use of some styling products can cause oily patches. Try leaving off the products and letting your hair air dry to see what happens. If this doesn't help you could have a problem with some or your sebaccous glands. Several things influence your oil glands such as diet, blood circulation, hormones, the endocrine gland and the nervous system. When any of these things get out of balance so can the amount of sebum the sebaccous glands produce. If you and your stylist can't solve this mystery, you should consult a dermatologist.
