Relief of Itchy Scalp?
I'm african american with thick hair. For some reason it is starting to itch badly. I'm getting flakes two days after I wash my hair. I used to live in Puerto Rico for two years and I was wondering if the water and temperature has something to do with it (I just moved to Georgia). What is a good shampoo and conditioner to use to help prevent the flakes and itchy scalp. I'm at the point where I have to wash my hair twic a week instead of once.
Washing your hair so excessively may be contributing to the dandruff. Try greasing your scalp and washing only once every two weeks. It's possible that your scalp is just really dry. If that's not working then it's possible you have a fungal infection and can always see a dematologist about it. Or it's quite possibly an Excema issue.
