What is the difference between salon shampoos and drugstore shampoos.?

Will Herbal Essences, Aussie, Pantene, Garnier really make a difference to my hair? I'm thinking of buying a whole bunch of different drugstore shampoos so i can alternate every day because once my hair gets used to a certain shampoo, it's not as bouncy and shiny as the first time i used the shampoo.
Yeah, i wouldnt use v8 or those cheap brands. My hair starts to fall when i use those
Thanks Melissa.

I was beginning to think the same thing until today. I used to use cheap hair products and thought they were pretty good. I then started using Wen several months ago and was beginning to think that it wasn't having an effect on my hair. Granted, it significantly reduces my frizz, makes my hair super soft, and even helps with moisture retention.

The shampoo that I used before Wen I thought was perfect for my hair and really loved it. A few days ago I used that shampoo instead of Wen because I was lazy. Well, the shampoo tore up my hair and made it frizzy, extremely dry, unmanageable, brittle, and all around horrible. That was my wake-up call that although cheap products might seem to work well when you have nothing but other cheap products to compare them to, but when compared to expensive products then you'll see that the expensive ones can be far superior. Wen has never made my hair feel like that cheap @ss shampoo I used. I used to use Pantene and Dove, too and those have made my hair just as dry, especially their so-called "moisturizing" conditioners.

Cheap and expensive products are not all the same, because the ingredients are different. They might have some ingredients in common, but that doesn't mean the products are equal. Also, you have to keep in mind that even if they contained many of the same ingredients they will not contain the same proportion of ingredients, which can also have a different effect on your hair. Some ingredients are better than others and you can have two products with, say, olive oil in it, one might use organic cold pressed olive oil while the other just contains olive oil. The difference is that cold pressed and organic means it wasn't grown or harvested with harmful pesticides and cold pressed means the oil was extracted on a very low heat setting so that the nutrients that make the oil effective stays intact and it'll actually have an affect on your hair, or skin. So, even things like that matter when it comes to hair or skin products. Plus the whole Wen hair care line is natural with no harmful ingredients and it's *patented* which means there isn't going to be a company that can come close to being a good knock-off because they can't use the same technology Wen uses in it's hair care line. That's a HUGE difference. Right now, I'm washing and deep conditioning with the Wen Cleansing Conditioner to try to counter the effects of that crappy shampoo I used the other day. It already seems to be working and my hair is LOVING it. I need more of this stuff, but it's too expensive. Keep in mind that I used to love this shampoo before I started using Wen, but Wen has made me realize how much cheap products really are inferior.

You might want to just take the money that you'd spend on all the drug store shampoos and buy a nice expensive one like Aveda, Redkin, Paul Mitchel, or even Wen, and when you run out go back to the drug store shampoos that worked well on your hair before and see if it's still effective. Once your hair gets used to the good stuff it ain't gonna want to go back.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!
