What gas, aside from helium and regular air, can I use to fill up a rubber ball?
It has to be easily accessible, and safe of course.

not knowing what the experiment is certainly doesn't help.
Helium is inexpensive, available everywhere, is non polar, doesn't exhibit hydrogen bonding, is stable, and is safe. Sounds like an ideal choice.
Air is even better. same reasons.
But if you insist on other gases. N2 is available in most labs, Argon is probably available, CO2 is probably available.
