How do I repair my brittle hair?
I have naturally curly hair, and my hair is very brittle. I can't get it to grow past my shoulders without just breaking off. I have tried hot oil treatments, and special restorative shampoos, they don't work. I used to highlight my hair, but haven't in over a year now, hoping that would help. Any suggestions?
You may be over washing. You really should only shampoo the roots of your hair every 3 days if you can stand it. Concentrate on the roots and when it is rinsing it will run through the ends. Get some leave in conditioner,you really can use any light weight conditioner and leave a dime size throughout your hair after washing. Dry brittle hair is usually over washed,everytime you wash your hair you strip out all the oils your hair needs to be healthy.You should really do a deep conditioning by dampening your hair and coating it with conditioner and tie a plastic bag around your hair to help hold in the body heat which will allow the hair to absorb more moisture. Everytime you rinse use cool water because this will halp close down the cuticle which will tame frizz and help lock in moisture. I have heard of alot of success with infusium 23 products.
