Why do people always ridicule you for giving children unique nature names?
I have a unique name (Flower) and have known people with names like Rain or River or Harvest and people always compliment their names but when you say you want to name your daughter Jubilee or Celeste or Violet and give them the middle name like Rainbow or something people give you crap for it.
What's the deal? I'm glad I didn't have a boring generic name like Alexis or Laura or something. My name gave me a sense of individuality.
Why do people just like to give them safe unoriginal names?
Because those people who are "always complimenting their names" are going round the corner and laughing themselves silly. They know what people really think of "unique nature" names, and they have no intention of putting any kid through it.
And...you only have individuality because you have a silly name? That's really sad.
