Guinea Pig Sneeze?

Hi all, my boar pure breed Teddy is breathing fast, hardish puffs of air from his nose, i don't know if its sneezing? It is usually after i pick him up, although i have heard him doing it when he is in his cage with his friend? His friend(boar) does not do it, only once or twice, so i am doubtful that it is the hay of sawdust, but you never know... Also when i hold him, i make sure that i have no deodorant or fragrance's on me to irratate them.
Please any advice is much appreciated!

Well, labored breathing could be the signs of an upper respiratory infection. It is hard to say unless he has other symptoms like:

Wheezing, Sneezing, coughing, Crusty eyes, eyes that are almost sealed shut, Discharge from eyes or nose, Dull and/or receding eyes, Rough or puffed-up coat, Lethargy, hunched posture.

It might also be a sign of aggression. Some males like to be dominant and they want you to know they are big guys who are not afraid. They show this by grinding their teeth and making puffing noises when they are angry.

I think you should look at the condition of this guy and see if he is exhibiting any signs of illness or pain. You are going to have to decide if this is just a behavior thing or a sign of distress. You may need a vet visit.
