Oreal Preference
![]() |

Did l'oreal change its formula for Preference haircolor? It looks different than before.?
The coloring agent from the tube that gets added in has always been white before; this time the last 1/2 inch or so was a darker color, sort of greenish. I don't want to use if it is defective.
The last 1/2 inch was exposed to oxygen, usually from a very small hole in the packaging. What happens is the normally colorless pigments become oxidized and turn color. This is also what happens when you mix the color with your developer. The oxygen from the developer mixes with the color molecules and they turn to the color you want to see.
This does not affect your outcome and is perfectly OK to use. If the entire tube was a dark color, then I might suggest getting a new tube, but just the last 1/2 inch will make no difference.
