Will I get a dark mustache if I wax my upper lip?
I have a light coating of fuzz on my upper lip. Most of it is blondish, but some is black. If I wax it with Nads, will the hair grow back thicker, darker and coarse? I don't want to end up with a mustache, but the hair really bothers me, and bleaching has not helped.
That is an old wives tale. Removing the hair does not change the color nor will it change the texture significantly. If you shave it will feel coarser because it has been cut off bluntly whereas hair, left to grow naturally, has a tapered end. Waxing can lead to a bit of thinning of the hair because of the trauma to the follicle when the hair is ripped out, but generally, the hair won't change at all one way or the other. As you get older, however, the hair will probably get progressively coarser regardless of what you do...just one of the joys of aging!
