What made Japan take over Korea since Korea was more advanced?
Hundreds of years ago Korea was more advanced than Japan, the Koreans had spear rocket launchers, turtle ships, and other more advanced stuff. So what made Japan been able to get ahead of and conquer Korea? What happened, did they win a particular battle?
Korea has the misfortune to be next to China which pretty regularly conquered the place. Korea would re-emerge as an independent country when China was weak. In the late 19th century the Chinese govt was particularly week and was busy trying to fight off western powers who took advantage of its weakness. Japan was newly industrialized and also took advantage of China's weakness to nab Korea for itself.
