How many different reasons are there for hair loss or thinning hair?

i know someone who im very close with that her hair is apparently beggining to thin and some of it comes out when you comb it and she got tested for a thyroid and its negative so were really afraid it might be cancer and im really scared
This girl is 17 she had a blood test for a couple things including cancer which came out negative along with the thyroid but shes going in for a sonogram to make sure in a couple days.

Cancer doesn't cause hair to fall out. treatments for cancer like, chemotherapy, or radiation cause hair to fall out. Chemotherapy drugs are powerful medications that attack rapidly growing cancer cells. A reason that her hair falls out might be

Seasonality which makes you lose the most hair in the fall -- typically November and December when hair reaches maturity in its growth cycle.

Androgenic Alopecia, which is the prodominant cause of hair loss in both men and women. it occurs as the result of a build-up of the hormone DHT in the bloodstream. DHT binds itselt to your hair follicles and- long story short, it strangles them to death.

Vitamin & Mineral Deficiencies
People with poor dietary habits are far more likely to experience thinning hair in their lifetime. Vitamins and minerals keep us functioning. They are the catalyst for all of our life's functions. Specifically, vitamins A, B, C, and E... along with magnesium, iron, zinc, and copper all work together to keep our integumentary system (skin, hair, and nails) tip-top and growing properly.

Poor pH Balance

This is one of the most overlooked principles in the entire world of health. Our bodies are only as healthy as the state of our blood.
