Loss Regrow Healthy
Losing hair at age 21 "Male"?

I am 21 years old and on the top of my head You can tell my hair is thinning and I'm loosing hair. I am very stressed with college, work, g/f etc. I know that plays a significant role in hair loss. I am using Bioxin 2 times daily once in the morning and once before i go to bed. It works but It's really not showing to much of a difference. What would you recommend me doing? Is there something I can take to regrow the hair? On tv they have these commercials like Bosley hair grow and other companies that can regrow your hair. What would u recommend me doing? I'm only 21 and losing a lot. Is there something I can take? I know I'm perfectly healthy. I have gotten a physical just to be safe and everything came out great.

As for these programs like Bosley or other hair companies....are they safe? or risky? Is there a catch to it..cancerous?????? Would you you do? How much does it cost? any help would work. Thank you

Most external hair growth treatments are not very effective, which would explain your sub-par results. That's just the nature of the beast with external treatments, sadly.

However, hair transplantation, like the Bosley restoration you mentioned, are effective. They transplant hair follicles from the side/back of your head to where hair growth has stopped. You may not be a good candidate for this treatment though. Most transplants will only be done after hair loss is complete in one area. It seems like you are still in the process of loosing your hair and this would not make you eligible for the treatment.

Pricing varies, and is most often done through monthly financing (maybe 100 bucks +/- a month depending on the size of the procedure). Health consequences seem to be minimal. The worst case scenario is improper transplantation which results in the hair falling out, or infection from the procedure itself. No long term risks have been documented.

I recommend coming to terms with your hair loss as of now, and once it advances seek treatment if you wish. Your hair pattern will genetically follow the pattern of your mothers father. So ask your grandfather on your mom's side to see how your hair loss will progress.

CONSIDER: You don't want to pay for a procedure now only to find out you need another one in 5 years because more of your scalp has gone bald.

Best of luck!
