Is Loreal Recital Preference a good brand of hair dye?
Hi, I have never dyed my hair at home before, only twice at the salon. And seeing as my roots are coming up, I decided to go down to Boots and buy Loreal Recital Preference - Ultra Violet Deep Red 3.66 today. I just wanted to know if anyone else has used this brand or colour before, and what they thought the results were like.
Also, do you have any tips on how to colour your hair at home? Is using a toothbrush to apply it better than your fingers? ( Yes, it may be tediuos, but im patient 
)
And do you think the colour will come up well? My natural hair colour is black, my hair is faded red from Loreal Majirel from the salon, and I have 7 weeks regrowth of black roots...?

Yes I think loreal Recital preference is a good brand of hair dye, in fact of all home dyes I would consider it the best and use it myself.
Don't use a toothbrush! There really isn't any need, the bottle is shaped to help you apply it easily and effectively without the need of a tint brush.
If this is your first time dying at home its a good idea to use Vaseline on your face up to the root line of your hair, it will stop the dye from dying your face and believe me this is a strong dye! Helpful tip though, dye will take off dye so if you do get some on your face rub your hair on it when you're washing off the dye and it will help remove the stain. Also have baby wipes handy so you can wipe it off your ears etc... Start from your parting and cover the roots, then use the nozzle on the bottle to help you part the hair and work all the way along until all your roots are covered, then use the rest of the dye to cover the rest of your hair.
I can't remember if this particular shade lightens when you use it, I'm sure your hairdresser would have pre lightened your hair before they dyed it red, however on the side of the box there is a guide that will show you what colour your hair will turn out, its usually pretty accurate as long as you're dying your natural hair colour.
Last but not least I strongly advice you do a skin test first if this is your first time doing a home dye! This will be in the instructions, its a good idea just in case you're allergic to the dye! Good luck, hope it works out well for you.
