Loreal Artec

Will a toner help my hair problem?
I had "virgin" hair until today. I finally got my hair highlighted today to hide the grays. I have medium brown hair and she gave me blonde highlights. I hate it though because you can still see the grays on top of my head near the scalp, the highlights are too bright, they are too streaky, and don't look natural. It looked good in the salon but once I got home I cried my eyes out!! It cost me $110!! So I finally got the nerve to call her back and she said she could fix it tomorrow by puting a toner in my hair - which she says would tone down the brightness of the blonde and blend in the grays more.
Is that what the toner will do??
Another friend of mine told me that I should just use Artec by Loreal - an at home color depositing conditioner.
Advice??
yes a toner will help from the brassiness say if it's orangy copperish color and if you still see greys this will help keep in mind a toner is temporarly so what you see when you come out of the salon might not look like how you want it in a month cuz it will eventually will wash out...
good luck and i hope you are not paying extra to get it toned if you are i wouldn't pay.
