Line Action
What is my through line of action?
I'm doing the monologue 'Emotional Recall' by John Palmeier from the play Impassioned Embraces. It's for an assignment and we have to say what our characters through line of action is. What is a through line of action? and what would mine be? Thanks in advance!
I would imagine they want to know what your character's overall objective is in the play, or maybe just in the monologue. I haven't read the play, but through-lines could be things like "I want to get my son back," "I want to marry this girl," "I want to get revenge for my family," etc. What does your character want in the play, and what do they do to get it? Or what are they trying to accomplish with the monologue, if the teacher means to apply it just to that.
