how do you keep curls for long hair?
i'm having a special occasion coming up, & i wanted to curl my hair. last time i decided to curl it, it didn't last long. i washed my hair that morning, then while my hair was in the curling iron, i sprayed it with hair spray. & it came off about an hour later. the brand name i used for the hairspray was "KENRA" & it was a volume spray. i have long hair, it's about an inch & a half or two inches away from my butt. it's naturally a little wavy after i get out of the shower. i don't own any curlers either, & i just wanted to know if there was another way i could keep my curls longer.
I've found that using hot rollers rather than a curler works better. It's way more natural looking. This is what works for me: Wash your hair the night before, and put in leave in conditioner (I use Garnier Fructis from the drugstore). Then, part your hair into different sections. Use a curl enhancing spray from drugstores (I use So Sexy Curl Enhancing from Victoria's Secret) and apply the spray to each section, then twist each section up in a bun and tie it. You should have a bunch of little buns by the end of the night. Sleep with a shower cap on to keep them in place. The next morning, you should have light, natural curls. You can re-construct them a bit by putting on hot rollers or creating more precise curls with your straighter. Then use a good hairspray (Garnier Fructis) to keep them that way all day! Good luck. Oh and you might want to apply some Serum (I use So Sexy hair serum from Victoria's Secret) to control frizz and fly-aways).
