Should we follow France's proposal to ban head gear for women worn by Muslims?
Everyone I have spoken to about this subject agrees they should be banned.
Its not that we dont respect the Muslim religion, it is more that we repect women and think this is condescending and restrictive and a manmade law to keep women down.
Also, everyone I spoken to, says they find it intimidating to actually walk past or converse with someone with their face covered. Another point that is constantly raised, is how do you know it is a woman underneath all the facial and body coverings?
I don't know about just the head gear, but yes, covering up face conceals identity and I agree that is dangerous.
I think countries should not let religion interfere with law and order.
Besides, in Islamic states ( Afghanistan,Bahrain,Brunei, Iran, Mauritania, Oman, Pakistan, Yemen, Saudi Arabia ), non muslims are expected to conform and follow THEIR laws, so why should it be different for them when they are living in other countries.
