Can Black people dye their hair a lighter color without it falling out
So school is about to start and i want to be a trend setter,
so i want to dye my long blackish/brown hair golden brown,
but my cousin wont let me cause she said that it will fall
out and I don't want my hair to fall out because I love it so much!! Plus, i don't wanna go to school with huge bald spots!!!
Two of my cousins dyed a portion of their hair this color and it broke off.
Thus, my question is can African Americans dye our hair lighter without it falling out?
Please help!!!
Thanx
P.S.i only want the dye to last a few days..non/permanant
I guess i can't do it because my hair is dead at the ends and its probably going to make it worse, but thanks for the answers though..
they helped me a lot
IF your going to go a lighter color it's going to have to be permanent, because of the harsh chemicals that will be used to get the color onto the hair. Otherwise if you want temporary color it will only show up as a highlight.
Your hair may fall out if you don't know how to take care of it.
Our hair is already fragile because of how dry it is, and adding color will strip it of all the moisture it has.
But still, if you still going to do it, make sure to deep condition EVERY week, use oils in your hair (Like olive oils, coconut or any other kind except for mineral and petroleum)
Try to avoid using heat. Maybe start roller setting and blowing out your roots.
Do a protein treatment at least once a month with either a protein shampoo, or an egg and mayonnaise treatment.
The main key is to keep the hair moisturized.
Goodluck!
