Hair Rollers

Are hair rollers good or bad for your hair?
A friend just told me that she heard from her hair stylist that putting rollers in your hair is better than wrapping it. Is this true? What are the benefits of it?
Wrapping your hair is not necessarily better or worse than using rollers. If you wrap your hair or roller set your hair excessively, then you can cause your hair to break off. The tension of the rollers can break your hair. Wrapping your hair in the same direction night after night can be also cause tension around your edges and pull the hair out in that area.
I personally like the outcome of using rollers better because they give your hair a lot of curls and body, and you have more styling options when you take them out. When you unwrap your hair, it just sits straight on your head.
The downside of using rollers is that they can be uncomfortable to sleep in. Wrapping your hair in a scarf is much more comfortable in my opinion.
While both have their advantages and disadvantages, they are both much better and gentler on the hair than using heat every day.
