What hair texture do I choose?

Ok so I want to get hair extensions, but I don't know which hair texture to choose. I'm black and I get relaxers. Here's the thing that has me confused: As soon as I get a relaxers or flat iron my hair really good, girls (white and black) will come up to me and touch my hair and say you have "white" girl hair. After that my hair usually stays like that for about a week and a half and if I flat iron it really well it stays like that for about 3 days. After that period of time is up my hair becomes coarse and thick (maybe because the natural oils in my hair) Can anyone help me? I don't know if I should get silky weave or yaky weave. I just want it to look natural at all times.
