Can you use a flat iron on a black persons hair, to substitute a perm?
My hair got kinda damaged from a perm so I cut it a little and got micro braids. Now that I took the micro braids out my hair is healthy, but now nappy. I don't really wanna go back to having a perm, so I was wondering if a flat iron would do the job just as well as a perm would...oh and also if it does how often would I have to flat iron my hair?
But Japanese hair Straightening is expensive. Is there like a certain brand of flat iron or something that I could use????
I went through the exact same thing. I cut my hair off and just started over. I invested in a good blow dryer, hot comb and a good flat iron. I do not regret it. I will never go back to a relaxer. It is not worth it, healthwise or financially.
First, I blow it out, then if it is still a little kinky, I run through it really quickly with the hot comb and finish it with the flat iron. I love it! It is much healthier, softer, and looks better than I have ever seen it.
GO for it girl. You won't even miss that perm.
