Gingerbread without using baking soda?
My father had a stroke, and he gets slow somtimes, and it horrifys my mother and shes not very good at understanding, and they hav been fighting recently, and i want to make them a really nice treat when they come home from his physical therapy today! I want to make gingerbread cookies *my mothers favorite* hot apple cider *my fathers* and roasted squash with ym dads favorite maple syrup butter sauce, sounds good right? well i have a problem..NO BAKING SODA!
Please help me out, how can you make gingerbread without baking soda? if you absolutely cant, what other recipes can i make then add ginger and spices too?? sugar cookie recipes? help!
you can use a table spoon full of brandy , or sweet wine it always workes for me . ok ? TOM .
