Good SAT Essay Examples?

The worst part that I have trouble with when it comes to writing a SAT essay (next to the short, ridiculous time that is) is getting good examples to support my viewpoint. I don't really have much personal experiences, and I guess I don't have a good knowledge of literary books either. The only one I do usually use is "The Great Gatsby", which I'm currently reading right now (It has only 9 chapters, so I guess I can get done with it before test day).

My question is this: does anyone have any tips for good example usage on the SAT essay? I'd really appreciate it. I believe that if I gave stronger support, then I could push my score from a 4 to a 5 or a 6.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Well, I got a 5, and I thought it was decent. The book Fredrick Douglass' biography can seriously help though. It gives you topics on honsety, hard work, nonconformity, believing in yourself and all that great stuff they put on the SATs. You can also think about past events from history...the holocaust, slavery, the depression, situations that people have learned from. Come up with a list before the SAT, that's what I did.

and here's a good link for examples:
