Flat Iron Tourmaline

Are SOLIA flat irons crushed tourmaline throughout or plated?
I don't want to buy a Sedu because they get hot on the outside, and I don't want to buy a Chi because there is no temp control, but I don't want a flat iron that is only "plated" with tourmaline, I want the tourmaline crushed throughout the iron like the Sedu and the Chi.
I have that flat iron and on the box it says that is pure solid ceramic tourmaline so it is not plated. The outside doesn't get hot and it goes up to 450. Also you can curl and create flips with this flat iron. I am so glad I bought it because it doesn't snag hair at all. My cousin has the CHI and she has asked to borrow my SOLIA so many times.
