home biz to support homeschooling?
I am currently a full-time online student pursuing academic studies. I have been leaning toward getting a trade. There is training for Culinary Arts Technology, Barber & Stylist, Early Childhood Education Technology (i'm not a homeowner yet and my local health dept. require a caregiver to live in a house), Small Engine & Equipment Repair, Clothing and Textiles Services. I have a son and I would like to obtain a trade and start a biz so my son will be able to work during his teen years before college. I know it's quite challenging being a woman, but I'm willing. Thanks in advance:)
Any of those could be turned into a home business if you try hard enough.
I've known a stylist who operated a home business going to people's homes to do the hair of the whole family. This worked well for busy people who didn't want to have to cart the whole family to get their hair cut or whatever. Her charges were low enough that people thought they were getting a great deal, yet she didn't have to pay rent on a studio or anything. Maybe that could work where you are?
I've known people who ran home businesses doing catering out of their homes. Or making wedding (or other) cakes for special occasions.
I've known people who repair things from their home, or go to the home of the person who has something needing fixing.
Or there are people who make clothing, or alter it to fit, from their home.
Mostly, you'll want to look into the local laws to see what will work with the local ordinances. And you'll need to be creative to get a vision for what can work for you. If you intend to do this yourself, you'll need to come up with a plan to advertise and get enough clientele to keep the business going, figure out pricing, insurance, etc.
Good luck.
