Best Cheap Drugstore Straightener?
Hey, I've been seeing TOO MANY reviews on a few brands --
Revlon, Remington, and Conair.
I've seen GOOD and BAD, and that's the bad thing. Most of the time, the bad thing is either, IT'S frying your hair/DAMAGES a lot/pulls your hair.
I'm trying to find a ceramic coated straightener that is like below $30 in drugstores. (been look at drugstore.com)
I know straighteners or any heat product DOES damage your hair anyway, but I don't want it to make it REALLY REALLY bad, like horrible. If you get what I mean, and obviously NOT frying my hair.
I have permed hair but it's sorta going back to straight, and I curl my hair almost everyday with Jose Eber curler. ($100~) It's a little dry and frizzy, therefore I don't wan the straightener to make it worse.
Please don't recommend any expensive ones like CHI, because my parents won't let me buy that.
It REALLY scares me when there's a SOUND or STEAM coming out of the straightener.
Thank you SO much.
I suggest a Remmington. I'd suggest a couple of other brands, but those snag. I have a Remmington, the one with Teflon (which I totally recommend, it really does help with protecting your hair), & it doesn't snag my hair at all. Plus, there are different types within the brand, like the Teflon, Shine Therapy, Shine & Protect, etc. They even have these ones that are cute & have patterns for $20 at Target, but I'm not sure if those particular ones have heat settings. Make sure to get one with heat settings. All the ones I listed above have heat settings though.
As for which one to get, I suggest the one with Teflon, Shine & Protect, or the one with brown one w| pink plates (the name is really long). They run about $30-40 though, so $10 over your limit. :/
Also, it will make your hair steam, but I hear that's a good thing. If you get a Wet2Dry, its drying your hair (not frying it, or sucking the moisture out, but.. drying it, lol). If your hair is already dry, I hear that your hair is moisturized/burning the product. I think that's true 'cause I put TONS of product on my hair & there's lots of steam, but my hair doesn't get dried out, smell burnt, or is fried.
If you're wondering about heat protectants to help stop damage, some products are: John Frieda Thermal Pretection Serum (yellow one), Dove Heat Defense Mist (red bottle), TRESemme Heat Tamer Spray + the Straightening Gel (from the same line), or IC Fantasia serum (the red bottle, I don't remember the exact name, but that's the brand).
I haven't used these personally, but people say Chi Silk Infusion & Biosilk Silk Therapy is reallyy good, but also reallyy expensive, lol.
By the way, you can get everything I listed above (straighteners & products) at a Target or Walmart.
If you go with the Silk Infusion or Biosilk, get it from Ulta (or a salon), even though both Target & Walmart sell them.
Hope I helped & good luck!
