How do I color my hair purple?
I say color because I don't know if I have to bleach it or dye it. I think dye means to darken it and bleach means to lighten it, correct?
I have dark Thick Black hair. I just want a couple of stripes about 1 inch width and 2 inches long I am also vegan so do you know any hair coloring substances with no animal products in it?
Would I have to dye or bleach?

Bleaching is taking the color out of your hair, making it lighter and dying is changing the color but not to a lighter color. So you have to bleach it or it won't turn purple in dark hair. You can buy bleach and hair dye at lots of places but since your looking for vegan use Manic Panic. Its all vegan and its quality too plus you can get bleach from them too. I think you can get it at hottopic or otherwise online. If you ever decide you don't want streaks anymore you can dye your hair back to black where the bleach is but bleach can only grow out.
