I have no washer/dryer hookup in my apartment! What can I do?
Ok, so I am about to move to a different apartment without a washer/dryer hookup. The complex does have a laundry center, but they only have 8 washer and dryers for over 400 occupants. And they are almost always full. Also, there is no laundromat for like 15 miles and that's not including traffic. And not to mention I will be at school all day pretty much everyday.
So, does anyone know of like a magical portable washer/dryer that does not require hookups? =) Ok, maybe not. But is there a way to do laundry in your bathtub? Or is there anything else I could possibly do? Any suggestions would be welcome. Please, I am desperate! Thank you.
They sell portable all-on-one washer/dryer units. You'll have to look around, but you can probably get one used or at a Scratch 'n' Dent sale (where stores sell merchandise that works but has a scratch, a dent from the truck or something else that prevents them from selling them as brand new). See below for links of brands you can look for. Brand new, they're pricey. But check in your town. Most every place has one used appliance store. Also check your paper and Craigslist. This is a good time of year to look for one, as they are very popular with college students who live off-campus, and with graduation, they're looking to unload what they won't need.
You can also buy just the portable washer unit (they're cheaper) and hang things to dry in your bathroom or on a portable dryer rack that you can hang in your kitchen or on a porch.
