Hair moisturizer - dry scalp flaking?
I am in Arizona and it is generally super dry here. My scalp is tooooooootally flaking - it is not really dandruff, it's just the dry skin dropping off.
Different dermatologists have suggested Seborrhic Dermatitis and Psoriasis but I am not convinced that it is either of them as the prescribed medications did not work to control the condition.
Zinc Oxide (Head & shoulders), tea tree oil, tar/ salicylic acid (T/Gel), ketaconazole (Nizoral) shampoos have not worked either.
Drenching my hair in olive oil works, but hair starts snowing the moment I wash my hair. I need something that will keep my scalp moisturized without making it oily, especially when I work and go out.
Anything else that has decisively worked for you?

If you shampoo your hair every day-- stop. Try to reduce washing to no more than twice a week, as shampoo itself is very drying and hard on the scalp ( I wash once a week and rinse and condition once in between times). Also, switch to a shampoo intended for dry hair-- they are milder, and won't dry your scalp as much. Avoid any shampoo or conditioner that seems to make it worse-- I personally found Pantene makes my scalp absolutely revolting. And that's about it-- basically, it will stay moisturised if you stop scrubbing all the oil off it
