What are good, inexpensive shampoos for coarse hair?
My hair is naturally dark (I don't dye it or use any chemicals on it), it's normal; not greasy or dry, but it's very thick and coarse. What kind of products do you recommend to get a smoother feel? Pantene doesn't work for me, it makes my hair feel stringy, greasy, and downright nasty.
I sometimes use a straightener, but never a blow dryer.

Try Olive Oil, soak your hair with it, wrap you head up with saran wrap or a shower cap and let it sit for a few hours.
It's natural so it's good for your hair.
Wash it out after a few hours. Buy the cheap kind because it's only for your hair.
It works great.
