Damaged Hair

Can damaged hair be replenished after straight ironing day after day for three foru months?
I stupidly curled and straighened my hair everyday for four months last year then stopped using heat completely since late January. My hair is dry at the roots but still somewhat full. I have naturally wavy curly hair and know it's growing somewhat because i can feel it again but some parts still feel dry. Can my hair be helped or is it forever damaged?
Well.. all I can say is do more research on products before you buy them, because I straighten my hair every day with a high-heat flat iron [which was VERY expensive, I must add] and my hair isn't damaged in the least. My stylist even told me so, and she was running her fingers through my hair for six hours. (I was there to get it stripped. Went from black to blonde. Still no damaged hair.)
But maybe you could hot-oil, use lots of conditioner, a moisturizing shampoo, and I find that natural greases help keep hair healthy. Excessive shampooing dries out hair. Maybe wash your hair every three days..? The natural grease keeps your hair sort of moist (Three days shouldn't be too much, and with my hair, it's not even noticeable) but make sure you condition every day. I know, I know, hair is so confusing sometimes.. xD
