Ok dear. If you want it straight: I suggest the same thing I told the other young lady; You need to start the process with a good shampoo and conditioner(Matrix, Schwartzkopf, Biolage, Nexxus) that is for straightening. Next, you need a pre-blow dry product, I suggest Straightening Serum by Christian. Then, blow dry in sections WITH A PADDLE BRUSH. Round or vented brushes cause fly away's and damage. Also, use a blowdryer with a CONCENTRATOR. If you are unsure what this is, ask a salon professional to show you one. They are cheap at supply stores(Ulta, Sally's). Next, invest in a Chi. By far the BEST straightening iron. Again, use thin sections; going over one section once is extremely less damaging then going over a thicker section many times. Also, consider a pre-straightening spray(I suggest Redken, it's $12.) Follow up with an anti-frizz spray or serum and a mist of anti-humidity hairspray. As for color - if you havn't colored before, start off small and try a few high-lights and lowlights. This way your full color doesn't really change. I also suggest only going 2-3 shades lighter and darker for the 'lights as any more will be too much of an extreme difference. If you plan to keep the curls - all I can tell you is HYDRATE AND CONDITION!!! Curly hair needs moisture to prevent flyways.
