How to stop platinum blonde from going yellow?
I come out of the hairdresser with platinum white blonde hair. A week later it begins to lose it's collour, the ends go darker, and the white blonde turns yellow. Now, I have bought KMS Colour Vitality for blonde hair and it claims to fight yellow tones. This shampoo is an extremely rich purple colour, and it doesn't seem to do the trick.
What causes the white blonde to turn yellow?
What is a product that stops this annoying yellow colour from returning?
Is there a better way of going blonde besides bleaching and toning that keeps the white blonde hair permanent?
THANKS =)
I'm glad that this can help other blondes out there =)
No hard water in Sydney =)
Let me start with the last question....bleaching and toning is the BEST way to get the white/platinum blonde look.
As far as reasons why your hair turns yellowy there a few. Pollution in the air, sun exposure and hard water (in your shower) are a few reasons your hair goes yellow.
I can give you the names of some good shampoos/conditioners to use, I'm not familiar with KMS so I dont know how well they really work. Aveda has a shampoo and conditioner called Blue Malva that works extremely well. The shampoo/cond are really blue and it's really strong so I wouldn't recommend using it any more than once a week. I've seen girls use it too much (like every day) and end up with a blue tint to their hair. You can go to Aveda's website and find a store/salon that sells it
Also there is a Shampoo/Conditioner from Alterna called Caviar Blonde that does the same thing. The tint is a little less potent so it can be used everyday and it smells really good. You can go to their website and find places that sell it too. Hope this helps
