Color Treated

when people say certain shampoos strip color from color-treated hair, exactly what does that mean?
will the color completely come out? fade? get brassy? my hair has been dyed blonde for a while and i used color-treated shampoo, but what would these so called 'color-strippers' actually do to dyed blonde hair?
there isn't any pigment in blonde hair, so the color stripper won't do anything to it. The only thing you have to worry about is color going on to your blonde hair, such as a green hue or golden tones. Dyed blonde hair is very porous, and will take any pigment that is in shampoos, so stay away from colored shampoos. Use clear shampoos and conditioners.
