Who has gone back to their natural hair color to be healthier/green (and stopped coloring)?
I'm considering stopping the highlighting I've gotten for years. I've had low lighting done last time and it's really close to my natural color now that I can stop and grow it out. I'm wondering if a lot of others are doing the same, if this is already a trend with the whole green movement? Are there safer options if I want to add a little color boost? What's your take?
You should definitely stop coloring your hair, even for your own health. Consider your make-up and personal care products too. So much of the beauty industry is based on toxic products. Of course letting go of those chemicals is great for the earth too - they all wash out into the water and enter the environment to cause unknown damage.
Many women (my wife included) use henna from time to time to add color to their hair and it's just great for the health of your hair too. There are natural options for make up and creams, facials etc too. Theres no need to rub nasty toxic ingredients on and into your body in the name of "looking better"!
