I am planning a surprise gift for my wife. I want to get her a makeup kit, one that has everything (I don't know what you call them, but I mean all the stuff you need to wear makeup...eyes, lips, cheeks, ...). I am also looking for something that has lots of colors not any specific color set.
Is there something like that I can buy? what is a good place to shop for it? mall or online?

Another idea I have is to send her to the mall to one of those department store beauty sections where the lady sits you on a high chair and let you try all kinds of different makeup.

I browsed around the Internet a little. I always thought that makeup is just makeup! turns out that make up colors vary by the season!!! I think I am going for the gift certificate. Thanks for all the answers.
