stylists and shampoos?
i am so sick of stylists telling me that 'this is bad', and 'that is bad for your hair too'. and then they stick a super expensive shampoo under your nose to sniff and read the bottle.
i used bumble and bumble seaweed shampoo for a couple of days and my hair is actually greasy. it's around 20 dollars for 8 oz. it's awful shampoo! it used to only be sold in high end salons but now it's in target. i'm so disappointed. it was one the stylist told me i should use.
i'm sooo confused. i love expensive products because i am a slave to the beauty industry, lmao, but i don't know if it's a lie or not. i've heard a lot about suave being horrid for your hair so i've stayed away from it.
what do you guys think? do they say that just to get sales?
Everyone's hair is different, so each person will react differently to different products. The cheaper brands work fine for some people, while others swear by the expensive stuff....
I personally have only tried a few expensive hair products. Maybe I just tried the wrong ones, but all the ones I've tried have been WORSE than the drugstore brands I was previously using! Right now I am happy with Garnier Fructis "Length and Strength" shampoo and conditioner, and their deep conditioner once a week. I have noticeably fewer hairs breaking off during washing/brushing/etc. since I started using their products. For a combo heat protectant / anti-static product, L'Oreal's Hot Straight is awesome! Only $3 and way better than any of the $20 products I've tried!
Then there are people who insist that only natural products are good for your hair. This is especially true for people with curly hair (which is prone to dryness) or dry hair. Traditional hair products strip your hair of moisture, so many people prefer natural products which actually add moisture to your hair. If you do try a natural shampoo, you must avoid ALL silicones in all your hair products though! Silicones are often used to add shine and anti-frizz properties to your hair. However, silicones coat your hair shaft, sealing it away from moisture and drying it out. Natural shampoos cannot wash away silicones; you must use traditional shampoos to get rid of them.
In general, I don't think all cheaper products are bad but I also don't think all expensive products are good! (You don't always get what you pay for!) I always start with cheaper products because sometimes you can find a good quality for a great price, but if they just don't work at all then I'm willing to experiment with more expensive stuff. And this is for all areas of life --- hair products, makeup, clothing, food, household products, anything. I'll pay more if I have to, but I don't want to waste money if I don't have to
GIVEAWAY: They didn't work for me, but you may love them!
