Brush Fuller
In full time day care settings do they brush the teeth on 1 year old children?

i am doing an assignment and have to plan the care routines of a 1 year old and a 3 year old. it's going okay but i am confused as to whether or not day care settings would brush 1 year old childrens teeth after breakfast? anyone who works in fulltime day care, or has a child of 1 that goes to day care PLEASE ANSWER!!

Hi there,
I work in a local authority nursery which cares for children from 6wks - 5yrs on a full time basis.
I am currently working with babies and YES we do brush their teeth. At this stage they may not have many teeth so it is just a case of introducing the toothbrush and encouraging them to brush their teeth with adult assistance.
We also have dental teams who come in regularly to check on the children's brushing habits and to change the toothbrushes (they have a habit of chewing them t this age).
